Adrift on the Starry Sky was created in just over 24 hours of the Build Your Own Game (BYOG) workshop at the 2016 New England LARP Conference (NELCO). Jennifer Diewald was the facilitator. The LARP was written by Jennifer Diewald, Tim Lasko, Theresa Sullivan, and Gaylord Tang.

Jennifer Diewald made some editorial changes based on notes from the first run of the game. These were first used in the second run of the game.
Jennifer Diewald created the Alexandria Mission Statement and Human Presence In Space bluesheets, based on notes taken during game development and the first run. They were first used in the third run of the LARP.

Jennifer and Julie Diewald updated the Questionnaire before a private run in the Spring of 2019.
Jennifer Diewald revised the Questionnaire, turning it into a Google form, for the January 26, 2024 Greater Boston LARP Society run. She made some minor document structural changes to make the game easier to play for a vision-impaired player. She also corrected a few minor lingering language issues in the text.
The starry background image was taken from http://tisk.dvrlists.com/starry-sky/ in order to provide a nice, uncrowded star field behind the header and navigation portions of the site.
