Content Concerns

Dustpan: the LARP is a silly, lighthearted, comedic game about the things that hide beneath your couch.

First, your safety during play is critical. If you have any concerns, let's talk privately about those concerns beforehand. We want you and everyone else in the game to have a good experience. This LARP is not be suitable for all players. Your safest choice may simply be not to play, and that's fine.

Second, while this is a LARP for adults, it can be played by younger players, provided they have appropriate supervision. Parents, please consult with the GM team about younger signups.

Third, it is difficult to summarize complex character and story issues into a brief description. This is our best attempt to spell out what we and our editors believe may be sensitive subjects. It is, by the nature of LARP, incomplete, because we don't have knowledge of or control over what you and the other players may bring to the environment. Again, if you have concerns, let's talk about it beforehand.

Content concerns may include, but are not limited to:

Those allergic to dust or household pets should be safe against others role-playing dust bunnies, dust, pets or pet byproducts. Some characters may be tasted and partially eaten by other characters. This game also contains far more than your minimum daily requirement of vitamins and bad puns. There have been other silly, odd, or unexpectedly serious things that have raised issues with a small number of individual players in the past. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask us about them.

Finally, it's also difficult to summarize complex LARPs with challenging drama in a way that doesn't make them sound like terrible experiences. The goal of this LARP is to explore an unusual setting, with interesting characters, drama, bad puns, silly names, a hint of angst, and fun.

Character Gender and Relationships

There are three important notes about gender and relationships:

  1. All characters are written with they/them pronouns. Players can choose the gender and pronouns they want used for their characters in the game.

  2. Some characters may be in some sort of silly relationship. If you are unable to play relationship drama that would be difficult or impossible because it does not match your real life relationships, then you should choose a different game.

  3. How you, as a player, express your character's gender through your costuming is entirely up to you. We simply ask that your costuming be appropriate for the game space location, as we do often run in places where non-LARPers can see what we're doing.

We have tried to make this game as accessible as possible. If you have concerns, let's talk about it beforehand.
